Ashton-in-Makerfield's defense didn't have a chance, in the 4th minute, when Sidney Ginn scored to the left of an out of position David Fleetwood, making the score, 1-0. David Fleetwood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sidney Ginn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 11 in the game by Glen Tomlin from a close distance when the talented David Fleetwood managed to make a qualified save. Ashton-in-Makerfield's players were relieved. After a defensive mix-up in Ashton-in-Makerfield's zone, Sidney Ginn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Fleetwood came out of the goal and Sidney Ginn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Glen Tomlin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 26 minutes into the match, Ashton-in-Makerfield's Niall Rawson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sacha Chipperfield narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 31 minutes, Richard Nailor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ashton-in-Makerfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Richard Nailor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niall Rawson in the 32nd minute of play forced North Solihull FC's goalkeeper Sacha Chipperfield to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sacha Chipperfield showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niall Rawson, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. North Solihull FC's Sacha Chipperfield played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Nailor in the 36th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Richard Nailor left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ashton-in-Makerfield fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Sidney Ginn succeeded in the game's 44th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-2. Ashton-in-Makerfield's Richard Nailor got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Niall Rawson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Richard Nailor's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sacha Chipperfield was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. Sidney Ginn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Fleetwood having to interfere. With a little luck, North Solihull FC's Sacha Chipperfield got control of the ball when Niall Rawson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ashton-in-Makerfield's Richard Nailor got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 65th minute of the match Lance Leach sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sacha Chipperfield skillfully saved the ball. Glen Tomlin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Fleetwood having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ashton-in-Makerfield's Alfie Featherson got a free kick in the 75th minute. Sacha Chipperfield made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard Nailor in the 81st minute of play. After a rather tough play, North Solihull FC's Vic Bush got a free kick in the 82nd minute. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, Richard Nailor took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Sacha Chipperfield to make any attempt to save it. In the 87th minute Richard Nailor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sacha Chipperfield saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Glen Tomlin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. David Fleetwood tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Niall Rawson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Richard Nailor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sacha Chipperfield having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Ashton-in-Makerfield walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
