Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Gareth Barker kicked off to start the match. Romeo Fowler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gareth Barker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 5th match minute, Marden FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Keith Glanvill to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Marden FC's Keith Glanvill got a free kick in the 6th minute. Romeo Fowler came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Great Staughton AFC's Gareth Barker. But to his dismay, Gareth Barker quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The Great Staughton AFC fans' excitement grew in the 10th match minute when Great Staughton AFC's Gareth Barker looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Romeo Fowler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damian Rowe in the 14th minute of play. After 16 minutes Marden FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Brendon Hinshelwood who took care of the corner kick. Marden FC's Romeo Fowler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gareth Barker in the 20th minute of play. Darren Goodwin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Eddy Burns made a huge save. After 28 minutes, Donny Wilkinson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Great Staughton AFC and the Marden FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 28 played minutes Great Staughton AFC got a freekick which was hit by Donny Wilkinson. Great Staughton AFC's Donny Wilkinson got his second yellow card of the match in the 30th minute. The referee ordered Donny Wilkinson off the ground. Donny Wilkinson kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Darren Goodwin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Eddy Burns made a huge save. Eddy Burns showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Todd Hudson in the 40th minute of the match. Todd Hudson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eddy Burns having to interfere. The supporters of Marden FC booed when Great Staughton AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ben Allison didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Todd Hudson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Graeme Bridgeworth during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 54 minutes Great Staughton AFC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Victor Norton who took care of the corner kick. Lance Bartrup made a great header on Marden FC's corner, it was just that Great Staughton AFC's Eddy Burns managed to reach the ball for a save. Sonny Corbridge kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Sonny Corbridge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romeo Fowler having to interfere. When Marden FC's Darren Goodwin in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Great Staughton AFC's goalie prevented a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Darren Goodwin in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eddy Burns saved Great Staughton AFC from getting behind. Eddy Burns showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Todd Hudson in the 76th minute of the match. Darren Goodwin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 90th match minute, Marden FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vince Beecham to maneuver through the defense. 92 minutes into the game, Tyler Tomkin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marden FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Great Staughton AFC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Marden FC's Tyler Tomkin got a free kick in the 93rd minute. In the 96th minute, Todd Hudson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Marden FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2.
