When Graeme Jobling came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Helsby United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Graeme Jobling couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvester Hellen in the 55th minute of play forced Helsby United's goalkeeper Louis Roche to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th minute Huey Hinchcliffe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Matthews saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kristopher Willmott during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 88th match minute, Crowthorne was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dave Ashford to maneuver through the defense. 91 minutes into the match, Helsby United's Graeme Jobling sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ivan Matthews narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
