Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Beckton's Drew Merrill started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ash Ingram charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ash Ingram the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ash Ingram kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. In the 14th minute, one of Chelsea City:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Chelsea City. In the 16th minute there was a penalty for Beckton. Kelvin Buxton stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Cliff Le Tissier. 0-1. The supporters of Chelsea City booed when Beckton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kelvin Buxton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pierce Bennett came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Chelsea City's Patrick Croft. But to his dismay, Patrick Croft quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 29 minutes into the match, Beckton's goalkeeper Pierce Bennett had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Samuel Bennet. Drew Merrill's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cliff Le Tissier read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Jay Beale hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Patrick Croft recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 44th minute, Chelsea City's Patrick Croft dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andrew Dale to make the kick off. Cliff Le Tissier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Drew Merrill in the 53rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Chelsea City's zone, Drew Merrill stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cliff Le Tissier came out of the goal and Drew Merrill tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Drew Merrill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Drew Merrill in the 62nd minute of play forced Chelsea City's goalkeeper Cliff Le Tissier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marc Broom could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Cliff Le Tissier made a huge save. In the 66th minute, Drew Merrill hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 72nd minute, Patrick Croft ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pierce Bennett was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. 79 minutes into the game, Beckton's Marc Broom nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cliff Le Tissier made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. In the 83rd match minute, Beckton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Callum Workman to maneuver through the defense. Casey Harrington struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Pierce Bennett didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chelsea City. After 86 minutes, Russell Brownlow mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Beckton and the Chelsea City players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 87 played minutes Beckton got a freekick which was hit by Russell Brownlow. Pierce Bennett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrick Croft in the 89th minute of play. Marc Broom struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Cliff Le Tissier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Beckton. Chelsea City's defense didn't have a chance, in the 97th minute, when Drew Merrill scored to the left of an out of position Cliff Le Tissier, making the score, 3-3. Beckton were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
