Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Neil Button took the kick off in the first half of the match. Junior Buckle made a great header on New Marske City's corner, it was just that Swinton United's Jeremy Doona managed to reach the ball for a save. If Neil Button had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Harry Lundy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alec Ellershaw received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Crispin Brookes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute, Samuel Izzard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alec Ellershaw might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Crispin Brookes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alec Ellershaw ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to New Marske City getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Samuel Izzard hit a great ball. Giles Longstaffe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the last second Crispin Brookes throw himself and got hold of the ball when Giles Longstaffe in the 31stth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 33rd minute Harry Lundy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremy Doona saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 37 minutes into the match, New Marske City's goal looked a bit too open when Giles Longstaffe came free, but Crispin Brookes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Harry Lundy might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jeremy Doona. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Harry Lundy ran back to his position shaking his head. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Giles Longstaffe made the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Swinton United's goal looked a bit too open when Neil Button came free, but Jeremy Doona reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 55th match minute, New Marske City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wally Poate to maneuver through the defense. If Alec Ellershaw had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Neil Button received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Jeremy Doona tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jeremy Doona showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Neil Button, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Alec Ellershaw's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Crispin Brookes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. Alec Ellershaw fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Crispin Brookes having to interfere. Giles Longstaffe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Harry Lundy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in New Marske City's zone, Giles Longstaffe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Crispin Brookes came out of the goal and Giles Longstaffe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 94th match minute, New Marske City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Izzard to maneuver through the defense.
