Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Martyn Argent made the kick off and thus started the match. 3 minutes into the match, The Rifles's goal looked a bit too open when Jim McCartney came free, but Harry Rowe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jim McCartney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Harry Rowe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jim McCartney in the 10th minute of play forced The Rifles's goalkeeper Harry Rowe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rio Horn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Liam Elwick in the 15th minute of the match. Simon Kempson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 24 minutes into the match, Simon Kempson notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Petts Wood's Rio Horn. Rio Horn was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 41 played minutes Liam Elwick rounded Petts Wood's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 3-1. Simon Kempson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Rio Horn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rio Horn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Liam Elwick, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 52nd minute, Ruben Salt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Reuben Ridsdale kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. In the 59th minute, Liam Elwick ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rio Horn was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Martyn Argent might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Harry Rowe. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Martyn Argent ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Petts Wood booed when The Rifles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Liam Elwick didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rio Horn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Liam Elwick, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jim McCartney got free with Harry Rowe in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 76 minutes into the match, Petts Wood's Martyn Argent sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Harry Rowe narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Petts Wood's Rio Horn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Liam Elwick in the 83rd minute of play. 84 minutes into the game, Liam Elwick cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Rio Horn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 90 minutes into the match, The Rifles's Liam Elwick sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rio Horn narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. The Rifles had won after a very even match.
