In the 9th match minute, Gone With the Win was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jason Shephard to maneuver through the defense. Jason Shephard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. William Ramstad tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Trev Hartshorn during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After having played for 26 minutes, Ralph Mawson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Colindale's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ralph Mawson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Jools Hallam came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Gone With the Win fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jools Hallam couldn't finish the play. Ralf Wright took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 29th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for William Ramstad. FC Colindale's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Jason Shephard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ralph Mawson struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Ron Cordingley didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Colindale. After a rather tough play, Gone With the Win's Keiran Barkley got a free kick in the 36th minute. After a defensive mix-up in FC Colindale's zone, Trev Hartshorn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. William Ramstad came out of the goal and Trev Hartshorn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ralph Mawson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jools Hallam stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
