After 6 minutes, Zane Holyfield made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Wirral Town FC's Tod Ingram tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Wirral Town FC booed when Richings Park FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Theo Middleton didn't get a good kick on the ball. 18 minutes into the game, Theo Middleton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Richings Park FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wirral Town FC the free kick. Theo Middleton kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Grant Creighton was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 19th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Tod Ingram made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Corby in the 24th minute of play. Tod Ingram stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of David Corby's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. After 29 minutes of play, Richings Park FC's Zane Holyfield made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tod Ingram was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Richings Park FC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Zane Holyfield hit a great ball. Tod Ingram took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Corby, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, David Corby put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Tod Ingram. When Dan Ellershaw fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wirral Town FC's protests and gave Dan Ellershaw a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Wirral Town FC's Dan Ellershaw got a free kick in the 40th minute. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, Zane Holyfield put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Tod Ingram. After the first half Richings Park FC were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stewart Probert stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Guido Bartoli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stewart Locke in the 53rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stewart Locke in the 57th minute of play forced Richings Park FC's goalkeeper Guido Bartoli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Wirral Town FC booed when Richings Park FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Drew Myers didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guido Bartoli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stewart Locke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stewart Locke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guido Bartoli having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jeff Fordham during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Richings Park FC getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Jeff Fordham hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zane Holyfield in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tod Ingram prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tod Ingram didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zane Holyfield went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. 78 minutes into the match, Wirral Town FC's goal looked a bit too open when David Corby came free, but Tod Ingram reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Wirral Town FC's Seth Mabbutt got a free kick in the 82nd minute. In the 88th minute Stewart Probert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guido Bartoli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Richings Park FC booed when Wirral Town FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Seth Mabbutt didn't get a good kick on the ball. David Corby succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-6 in the 92nd playminute. The Wirral Town FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Richings Park FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Richings Park FC.
