Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) 4 minutes into the game, Calvin Worrall was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kettering Town FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wirral Town FC the free kick. After recieving a nice pass, Wirral Town FC's Grant Creighton tried to score from far away in the 5th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 8th minute, one of Kettering Town FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Kettering Town FC. When the match had been going on for 9 minutes, Wirral Town FC's Stewart Probert got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Noel Hopton. In the 12th minute Stewart Probert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Noel Hopton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 16th minute of the match, Stewart Probert got a very nice opportunity to score, but Noel Hopton was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After a rather tough play, Wirral Town FC's Stewart Locke got a free kick in the 17th minute. 25 minutes into the match, Kettering Town FC's goal looked a bit too open when Stewart Probert came free, but Noel Hopton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wirral Town FC's Tod Ingram played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivan Bartrup in the 27th minute of play. 29 minutes into the game, Timothy Knightley was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wirral Town FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kettering Town FC the free kick. Timothy Knightley hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kasey Carroll in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tod Ingram prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kasey Carroll received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Tod Ingram tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tod Ingram took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivan Bartrup, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kasey Carroll was the one to do the kick off. Wirral Town FC's Tod Ingram played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivan Bartrup in the 55th minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, Kettering Town FC's goal looked a bit too open when Grant Creighton came free, but Noel Hopton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64th match minute, Wirral Town FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Timothy Knightley to maneuver through the defense. In the 67thth minute of the game Kasey Carroll who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Wirral Town FC's Tod Ingram was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Kettering Town FC's Ivan Bartrup got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 70 minutes into the match, Kettering Town FC's Kasey Carroll sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tod Ingram narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 79 minutes of play Kettering Town FC's Calvin Worrall was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Wirral Town FC booed when Kettering Town FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Calvin Worrall didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 82 played minutes Kettering Town FC got a freekick which was hit by Jason Philpott. In the 86th minute, Stewart Locke made a precise shot to the right of Noel Hopton. Kettering Town FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. When Kasey Carroll came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Kettering Town FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kasey Carroll couldn't finish the play. Timothy Power hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. In the 94th match minute, Wirral Town FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geoff Sadler to maneuver through the defense.
