After 16 minutes of play, Elstree Town's Gareth Child made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. George Dudek was left in no man's land by his defense there! Elstree Town's Peter Robson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Joachim in the 19th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eugen Colesnic during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 22 played minutes Oakham got a freekick which was hit by Eugen Colesnic. Gareth Child scored 0-2 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of George Dudek, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. George Dudek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tyler Kennedy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Tyler Kennedy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peter Robson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Joachim in the 34th minute of play. George Dudek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gareth Child in the 37th minute of play. Elstree Town's Peter Robson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Joachim in the 39th minute of play. If Julian Joachim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

55 minutes into the match, Oakham's goalkeeper George Dudek had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bortzaioriz Sancha. When Keiran Grantham fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Elstree Town's protests and gave Keiran Grantham a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Elstree Town getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Keiran Grantham hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Elstree Town's Gareth Child got a free kick in the 61st minute. Gareth Child kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Peter Robson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matthew Watkins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Cody Steel came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Oakham fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cody Steel couldn't finish the play. Through an outstanding action, after 80 minutes, George Dudek successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 81st minute of the match Elstree Town got a corner. Oakham's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Keiran Grantham ran over to the corner to take the kick. The audience was convinced that Matthew Watkins's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Peter Robson was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Joachim in the 97th minute of play forced Elstree Town's goalkeeper Peter Robson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 98th minute, Cody Steel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Oakham fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Elstree Town eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
