The supporters of Oakham booed when Yeadon United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oakham's George Dudek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christopher Buxton in the 10th minute of play. After 15 played minutes Oakham got a freekick which was hit by Philip Buckley. Julian Joachim blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Guy Spencer having to make a save. Cody Steel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 25th minute Paulo Nunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Dudek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Yeadon United fans' excitement grew in the 28th match minute when Yeadon United's Christopher Buxton looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. George Dudek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Nunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 36th minute, Julian Joachim ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Guy Spencer was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 46th minute of the match Oakham got a corner. Yeadon United's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dom Griggs ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Dom Griggs almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Yeadon United's Guy Spencer did a great save. Yeadon United's Guy Spencer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Yeadon United from getting a goal against them. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Christopher Buxton to make the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Oakham was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leo Blewett to maneuver through the defense. In the 59th match minute, Yeadon United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damien Reid to maneuver through the defense. In the 60th minute, Julian Joachim ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Guy Spencer was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Through an outstanding action, after 65 minutes, George Dudek successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Guy Spencer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Joachim, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
