Zé Maurito made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 9th minute, Gregório Sampaio made a precise shot to the right of Paulo Galão. Luisxemburgo FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Zé Maurito stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcelo De Matos's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. If Edmundo Jacaré had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulo Galão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vítor Serineu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute, Edmundo Jacaré reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Zé Maurito. The goal made the score 2-1. The audience was convinced that Marcelo De Matos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zé Maurito was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. After having played for 31 minutes, Henrique Caetano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Luisxemburgo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Henrique Caetano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Custódio Jacinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Maurito having to interfere. Peterlee's Zé Maurito proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Peterlee from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Miguel Gonçalves during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 47 played minutes Peterlee got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Gonçalves. Luisxemburgo FC's Miguel De Matos shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 48th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Zé Maurito but with some difficulty. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Custódio Canales was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Luisxemburgo FC's goalkeeper Paulo Galão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gregório Sampaio. Edmundo Jacaré received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Zé Maurito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Marcelo De Matos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Peterlee's Zé Maurito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Jacaré in the 69th minute of play. Zé Maurito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo De Matos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rodrigo Dos Santos lost his temper 78 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 78 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Luisxemburgo FC! Teta Teive did an outstanding performance 81 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 3-2 to the right of an irritated Paulo Galão in the goal. In the 89th match minute, Luisxemburgo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo De Matos to maneuver through the defense. When Luisxemburgo FC's Henrique Caetano in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Peterlee's goalie prevented a goal. Zé Maurito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo De Matos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Peterlee's Vítor Serineu got a free kick in the 94th minute. After 94 played minutes, Luisxemburgo FC's Miguel De Matos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Zé Maurito came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Luisxemburgo FC reached it. Zé Maurito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelo De Matos in the 96th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo De Matos in the 99th minute of play forced Peterlee's goalkeeper Zé Maurito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Luisxemburgo FC had played much better football throughout.
