Laco Piroško charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After 33 played minutes Lipovany got a freekick which was hit by Ján Bezák. Miroslav Kordiak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 35th match minute, Lipovany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matej Faith to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Lipovany's zone, Viktor Králik stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miroslav Olšanský came out of the goal and Viktor Králik tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Miroslav Kordiak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 45 minutes into the match, Lipovany's goal looked a bit too open when Viktor Králik came free, but Miroslav Olšanský reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Viktor Králik was the one to do the kick off. After 54 played minutes Lipovany got a freekick which was hit by Ján Bezák. Miroslav Olšanský made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viktor Králik in the 56th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alojz Rožman during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 62nd minute, Alojz Rožman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Breznica's Viktor Králik slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Miroslav Olšanský. That made the score 0-1 after 63 minutes of play. 67 minutes into the match, Breznica's goal looked a bit too open when Móric Delfín came free, but Michal Horváth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Lipovany's Miroslav Olšanský got control of the ball when Miroslav Kordiak tried to sneak it across the goal line. Breznica's Michal Horváth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Móric Delfín in the 73rd minute of play. Michal Horváth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Móric Delfín, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. 79 minutes into the game, Dušan Kaplan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Breznica eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
