With his leg Aleksandro Pernek managed to avoid a goal in the 3rdth minute, when Šmarje pri Jelšah ND's Jugoslav Zaponšek fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Djuro Jelnikar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zemri Pečar having to interfere. Vojimir Žvirc received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Aleksandro Pernek came out and tried to block the shot, but Vojimir Žvirc slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 8th minute. With an all-out effort, Šmarje pri Jelšah ND's Aleksandro Pernek threw himself towards the right post 15 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Vojimir Žvirc, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Vuzenica FC's Aleksandro Pernek proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Vuzenica FC from getting a goal against them. Guido Širme kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Jugoslav Zaponšek in the 26thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Aleksandro Pernek, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Dean Mihalek, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 27 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Zemri Pečar was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. If Djuro Jelnikar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Dean Mihalek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Aleksandro Pernek made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jugoslav Zaponšek in the 34th minute. Djuro Jelnikar took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zemri Pečar. Zemri Pečar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. When Dean Mihalek came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Vuzenica FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dean Mihalek couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Šmarje pri Jelšah ND booed when Vuzenica FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aleš Klockl didn't get a good kick on the ball. Osman Kosec kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 82nd match minute, Šmarje pri Jelšah ND was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jugoslav Zaponšek to maneuver through the defense. Aleksandro Pernek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vojimir Žvirc, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. 92 minutes into the match, Šmarje pri Jelšah ND's Vojimir Žvirc sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aleksandro Pernek narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Vuzenica FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
