If Calle Almkvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kristoffer Magnusson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evert Damm in the 15th minute of the match. In the 19th minute Fabian Sandström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edward Jönsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nils Apelqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Kristoffer Magnusson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Calle Almkvist did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Kristoffer Magnusson 24 minutes into the match. Evert Damm fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kristoffer Magnusson having to interfere. Malmö FF's Edward Jönsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joar Sillén in the 46th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Edward Jönsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carl Vennerberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Evert Damm sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joar Sillén in the 61st minute of play forced Malmö FF's goalkeeper Edward Jönsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Calle Almkvist in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kristoffer Magnusson saved Göteborg IF from getting behind. In the 73rd minute, Evert Damm made a precise shot to the right of Kristoffer Magnusson. Göteborg IF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. In the 77th minute Joar Sillén shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edward Jönsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Malmö FF had played much better football throughout.
