But to his dismay, Fabian Lagerberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 20 minutes into the match, Knut Johnsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tommy Bergendahl. Skånes Fagerhult's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Knut Johnsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Tommy Bergendahl showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Knut Johnsson in the 27th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Fabian Lagerberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommy Bergendahl was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Knut Johnsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tommy Bergendahl was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Skånes Fagerhult players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. West Bromwich Albion were winning 0-4.

Skånes Fagerhult's Tommy Bergendahl proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Skånes Fagerhult from getting a goal against them. Oscar Pihl's late challenge caught a West Bromwich Albion's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Oscar Pihl helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of West Bromwich Albion booed when Skånes Fagerhult was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Despite this Tommy Bergendahl quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Knut Johnsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. West Bromwich Albion's Arne Fastesson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leif Lundqvist in the 94th minute of play. When the match was over West Bromwich Albion could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Skånes Fagerhult throughout the match.
