City Slickers BK's Olof Askberg came free and shot a quick shot against goal 6 minutes in the game, fortunately Göran Valler had problems saving as it came toward the left post. 10 minutes into the match, Timmy Törnkvist had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sverker Blom. City Slickers BK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Timmy Törnkvist was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Timmy Törnkvist in the 16th minute of play forced City Slickers BK's goalkeeper Sverker Blom to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th minute, City Slickers BK's Olof Askberg ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Göran Valler. Göran Valler yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. The supporters of City Slickers BK booed when Hammarby IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bengt-Arne Sjöberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sixten Haeger took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 21st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Göran Valler. Hammarby IF's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, City Slickers BK's Olof Askberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Göran Valler narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 27 minutes, Sixten Haeger mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the City Slickers BK and the Hammarby IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Olle Duset made a kick off. Olof Askberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Göran Valler having to interfere. Sverker Blom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olle Duset in the 60th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Henning Jansson during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, City Slickers BK's Henning Jansson got a free kick in the 66th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Olle Duset in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sverker Blom prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Timmy Törnkvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
