Kärna's Niclas Holmgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Markus Gunnarsson in the 5th minute of play. In the 7th minute August Salkvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan-Erik Pettersson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. August Salkvist struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Jan-Erik Pettersson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kärna. August Salkvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Markus Gunnarsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Niclas Holmgren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Daniel Billock hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 19 minutes into the match, Romelanda's Sven-Ove Engström broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Markus Gunnarsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute, Romelanda's Robin Lindberg seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Robin Lindberg the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Romelanda protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Robin Lindberg had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 24th minute, one of Romelanda:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Romelanda. Jan-Erik Pettersson went to the wrong direction when Thomas Koch was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Daniel Billock charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Daniel Billock the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 28 played minutes Kärna got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Billock. 31 minutes into the match, Romelanda's goal looked a bit too open when August Salkvist came free, but Jan-Erik Pettersson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 33 minutes, Vincent Arhenius managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kärna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vincent Arhenius was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hans Vik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcus Henriksson struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. The wind increased when Marcus Henriksson made the kick off in the second half. Marcus Henriksson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niclas Holmgren having to interfere. After having played for 67 minutes, Marcus Henriksson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Romelanda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcus Henriksson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Kärna's zone, Marcus Henriksson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Niclas Holmgren came out of the goal and Marcus Henriksson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Marcus Henriksson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Romelanda's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcus Henriksson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Niclas Holmgren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Kärna's Leif Bergstedt got a free kick in the 75th minute. 78 minutes into the match, Romelanda's goalkeeper Jan-Erik Pettersson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vincent Arhenius. In the 88th minute, August Salkvist fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After 91 minutes of play, Romelanda's Marcus Henriksson made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Niclas Holmgren was left in no man's land by his defense there! For all the effort they put into the match, the Kärna players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Romelanda.
