Rolf Blomkvist made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Klas Stephansson sent off a good shot on target. Sorunda IFK's Philip Pilberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Göran Berglund in the 12th minute of play. In the 16th minute Göran Berglund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Philip Pilberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Philip Pilberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Knut Thedin in the 21st minute of the match. With a little luck, Örträsk IK's Rolf Blomkvist got control of the ball when Klas Stephansson tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thomas Vidman in the 24th minute of play forced Örträsk IK's goalkeeper Rolf Blomkvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Simon Nordlander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Philip Pilberg having to interfere. 28 minutes into the game, Sigvard Hammarberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sorunda IFK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Örträsk IK the free kick. Sigvard Hammarberg hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. When Göran Berglund came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Örträsk IK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Göran Berglund couldn't finish the play. When Sigvard Hammarberg was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 46 minutes had been played. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

After 55 played minutes Örträsk IK got a freekick which was hit by Simon Nordlander. Philip Pilberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Göran Berglund's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. 61 minutes into the match, Sorunda IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Göran Berglund came free, but Philip Pilberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65th minute Klas Stephansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolf Blomkvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Philip Pilberg managed to avoid a goal in the 70thth minute, when Örträsk IK's Knut Thedin fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Örträsk IK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Knut Thedin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
