A hard shot 24 in the game by Michael Ahlbeck from a close distance when the talented Jim Löfgren managed to make a qualified save. Manchester United's players were relieved. In the 28th minute Alf Brummer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erling Fredriksson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Manchester United's zone, Alvin Alebeck stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jim Löfgren came out of the goal and Alvin Alebeck tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Holmsund IF's Erling Fredriksson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alf Brummer in the 39th minute of play. Torsten Caspersson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erling Fredriksson having to interfere. Sixten Grubb might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jim Löfgren. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sixten Grubb ran back to his position shaking his head. If Alf Brummer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

With a little luck, Holmsund IF's Erling Fredriksson got control of the ball when Alf Brummer tried to sneak it across the goal line. Torsten Caspersson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Erling Fredriksson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 60 minutes of play, Manchester United's Torsten Caspersson made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Erling Fredriksson was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Torsten Caspersson got free with Erling Fredriksson in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Holmsund IF's goalkeeper Erling Fredriksson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jim Löfgren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michael Ahlbeck in the 80th minute of play. Torsten Caspersson was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 82nd minute. Manchester United's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Alf Brummer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alvin Alebeck might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jim Löfgren. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alvin Alebeck ran back to his position shaking his head. Christian Haegg hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Holmsund IF's Alvin Alebeck got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
