Jan Henriksson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfons Paulin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robert Göransson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Varberg BoIS's Alfons Paulin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Varberg BoIS from getting a goal against them. 12 minutes into the game, Joacim Västerstrand was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Varberg BoIS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Skultuna the free kick. In the 12th minute, Joacim Västerstrand hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Varberg BoIS's Alfons Paulin got control of the ball when Edward Sundling tried to sneak it across the goal line. Varberg BoIS's Patrick Magnusson got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 21 minutes into the match, Skultuna's goal looked a bit too open when Torsten Ekenberg came free, but Mattias Dahlman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, Varberg BoIS's goal looked a bit too open when Robert Göransson came free, but Alfons Paulin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Torsten Benett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Stellan Fridlund managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varberg BoIS's supporters rose to their feet, but Stellan Fridlund was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mattias Dahlman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robert Göransson in the 35th minute of play forced Varberg BoIS's goalkeeper Alfons Paulin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Torsten Benett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute, Torsten Benett got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 41 played minutes Varberg BoIS got a freekick which was hit by Pelle Karlstedt. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Skultuna's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. George Hökkvist was slow to take the kick. During this time Varberg BoIS's players had a chance to rest. In the 54th minute, Edward Sundling hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alfons Paulin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert Göransson in the 59th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Torsten Ekenberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varberg BoIS's supporters rose to their feet, but Torsten Ekenberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mattias Dahlman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 63 minutes into the match, Skultuna's goalkeeper Mattias Dahlman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Patrick Magnusson. Torsten Ekenberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mattias Dahlman having to interfere. 72 minutes into the game, John Tönnberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mattias Dahlman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Varberg BoIS. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
