Melker Åkesson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bengt Alströmer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Melker Åkesson made a huge save. Bo-Erik Rosendahl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Stenkullen RK's zone, Gustaf Melander stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sven-Oskar Lind came out of the goal and Gustaf Melander tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 29 minutes into the match, Norrköping's goalkeeper Melker Åkesson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bengt Alströmer. In the 33rd match minute, Stenkullen RK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Glad to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Gustaf Melander managed to get in a good position for a shot. Norrköping's supporters rose to their feet, but Gustaf Melander was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sven-Oskar Lind breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 41 minutes into the match, Bo-Erik Rosendahl had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sven-Oskar Lind. Stenkullen RK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bo-Erik Rosendahl was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Stenkullen RK's Sven-Oskar Lind played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bo-Erik Rosendahl in the 45th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bo-Erik Rosendahl was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Arvid Strömberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stenkullen RK's supporters rose to their feet, but Arvid Strömberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Melker Åkesson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Stenkullen RK getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Arvid Strömberg hit a great ball. 53 minutes into the game, Einar Hammarberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Norrköping's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Stenkullen RK the free kick. After a rather tough play, Norrköping's Einar Hammarberg got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 56th minute, Bengt Alströmer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Melker Åkesson was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Jan-Åke Tunström was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 61 minutes into the match. In the 61st minute, one of Norrköping:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Norrköping. Melker Åkesson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Samuelsson in the 68th minute of play. Bengt Alströmer struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Melker Åkesson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stenkullen RK. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Frank Samuelsson during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Norrköping booed when Stenkullen RK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Samuelsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 97th minute, Frank Samuelsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Melker Åkesson was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Stenkullen RK had won after a very even match.
