If Rutger Myhr had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ingmar Lindholm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rutger Myhr, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Ingmar Lindholm stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sonny Lidberg's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. Jerry Josefsson charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jerry Josefsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Sonny Lidberg came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Gunnarsbyn IK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sonny Lidberg couldn't finish the play. 18 minutes into the match, Gunnarsbyn IK's Rutger Myhr sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ingmar Lindholm narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gunnarsbyn IK's Nils-Åke Jakobsson got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nils-Åke Karlstedt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Magnus Ström, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. After 31 minutes, Freddie Busk mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hällefors and the Gunnarsbyn IK players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 44th minute Rutger Myhr shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ingmar Lindholm saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rutger Myhr to make the kick off. Ingmar Lindholm showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sonny Lidberg in the 52nd minute of the match. 53 minutes into the match, Sonny Lidberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ingmar Lindholm. Hällefors's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sonny Lidberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Rutger Myhr recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With 65 minutes on the clock, Jerry Josefsson commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 65 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Hällefors! 69 minutes into the match, Hällefors's goal looked a bit too open when Rutger Myhr came free, but Ingmar Lindholm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Magnus Ström's late challenge caught a Gunnarsbyn IK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Magnus Ström helped the player get up and apologised. In the 76th match minute, Hällefors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Magnus Ström to maneuver through the defense. Rutger Myhr sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ingmar Lindholm was out of position in the 80 minute of play, and Rutger Myhr capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Rutger Myhr really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. When Jens-Ola Alebeck fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hällefors's protests and gave Jens-Ola Alebeck a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Gunnarsbyn IK booed when Hällefors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jens-Ola Alebeck didn't get a good kick on the ball. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 89th minute, but Ingmar Lindholm got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Hällefors hanging dry this time. Rutger Myhr sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ingmar Lindholm took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rutger Myhr, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gunnarsbyn IK's Rutger Myhr got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gunnarsbyn IK's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
