In the 12th minute, Sven-Erik Bredberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ärla's Inge Åkesson shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 13th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Ted Benett but with some difficulty. After a rather tough play, Järna's Viggo Bergqvist got a free kick in the 13th minute. Järna's supporters rose to their feet, but Rutger Västerstrand was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Rutger Västerstrand made the kick off in the second half. Harald Damm received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Tim Hägglund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ove Vase's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ted Benett read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. Järna's Ted Benett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Staffan Askelöf in the 56th minute of play. In the 57th match minute, Ärla was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Billy Kjellbom to maneuver through the defense. Järna's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ärla the free kick. 68 minutes into the match, Järna's goal looked a bit too open when Ove Vase came free, but Ted Benett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 88 minutes, Ove Vase managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ärla's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ove Vase was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ted Benett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ove Vase, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ted Benett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan-Erik Kråk in the 93rd minute of the match. Jan-Erik Kråk hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. In the 96th minute of the match Sonny Jakobsson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tim Hägglund showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. There was no doubt that Ärla were the better team. Ärla's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
