The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Joseph Vedholm came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Rödeby fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joseph Vedholm couldn't finish the play. Joseph Vedholm's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eric Månsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joseph Vedholm in the 9th minute of play forced Lönsboda BF's goalkeeper Eric Månsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 10 minutes into the match, Ingmar Kleen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eric Månsson. Lönsboda BF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ingmar Kleen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Joseph Vedholm received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Eric Månsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joseph Vedholm sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 22 minutes into the game, Erik Fågel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lönsboda BF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rödeby the free kick. Erik Fågel hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Ingmar Kleen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28th minute Niclas Alstedt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Torsten Alefors saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ingmar Kleen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 33 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Lönsboda BF! In the 34th minute there was a penalty for Rödeby. Anton Ahlqvist stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Eric Månsson. 0-2. Torsten Alefors made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Stig Gerdberg sent off a good shot on target. The Lönsboda BF players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Rödeby were winning 0-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joseph Vedholm to strike the kick off in the second half. Bo-Erik Alströmer's late challenge caught a Rödeby's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bo-Erik Alströmer helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Rödeby booed when Lönsboda BF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bo-Erik Alströmer didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 55 minutes, Ingmar Kleen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rödeby's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ingmar Kleen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 58th minute, Stig Gerdberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stig Gerdberg in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Torsten Alefors saved Rödeby from getting behind. Torsten Alefors showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stig Gerdberg in the 62nd minute of the match. Niclas Alstedt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Rödeby would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
