After having played for 11 minutes, Anton Sillén managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Anfield Reds's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anton Sillén was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tobias Lundström's late challenge caught a Köpingebro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tobias Lundström helped the player get up and apologised. Tobias Lundström hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. When Axel Ryberg came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Köpingebro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Axel Ryberg couldn't finish the play. A hard shot 16 in the game by Ted Hybbert from a close distance when the talented Conny Hasselqvist managed to make a qualified save. Köpingebro's players were relieved. Ted Hybbert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Conny Hasselqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Artemio Mateo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Linus Markusson in the 24th minute of the match. Ted Hybbert recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Conny Hasselqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ted Hybbert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Ryberg in the 34th minute of play forced Anfield Reds's goalkeeper Artemio Mateo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Anfield Reds booed when Köpingebro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Linus Markusson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 38 minutes, Kjell Brandin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Köpingebro and the Anfield Reds players grew even worse after the yellow card. Kjell Brandin hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. The supporters of Anfield Reds booed when Köpingebro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ingemar Spetz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Conny Hasselqvist stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ted Hybbert's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. After having played for 53 minutes, Jim Ryberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Anfield Reds's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jim Ryberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 55th minute Ted Hybbert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Conny Hasselqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Anfield Reds's Tobias Lundström got a free kick in the 56th minute. Anfield Reds's Artemio Mateo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Anfield Reds from getting a goal against them. 61 minutes into the game, Kjell Brandin threw the ball into play from the sideline. Anfield Reds's Robert Nyqvist quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 62ndth minute of the game Ted Hybbert who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Köpingebro's Conny Hasselqvist was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ted Hybbert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 66th minute, Tobias Lundström ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Conny Hasselqvist was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Ted Hybbert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Conny Hasselqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 73 played minutes, Anfield Reds's Jens-Ove Arvidsson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Conny Hasselqvist came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Anfield Reds reached it. After 75 minutes of play Köpingebro's Kjell Brandin was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 77 minutes into the game, Anfield Reds's Ted Hybbert nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Conny Hasselqvist made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. In the 80th minute, Robert Nyqvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ted Hybbert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Conny Hasselqvist having to interfere. Ted Hybbert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anton Sillén struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Conny Hasselqvist didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Anfield Reds. In the 89th minute of the match Jens-Ove Arvidsson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Conny Hasselqvist showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Conny Hasselqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anton Sillén, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ted Hybbert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There was no doubt that Anfield Reds were the better team. Anfield Reds's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
