Djurgården's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Laxå the free kick. After 9 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Djurgården! Johannes Öberg shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Peder Lingren struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Kjell Andersson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Djurgården. A hard shot 14 in the game by Peder Lingren from a close distance when the talented Kjell Andersson managed to make a qualified save. Laxå's players were relieved. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by Djurgården's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Johannes Öberg was slow to take the kick. During this time Laxå's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Laxå's Johannes Öberg to fire away a dangerous shot which Gösta Fågel despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Laxå's Kjell Andersson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Laxå from getting a goal against them. Gösta Fågel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Knutsson in the 28th minute of the match. Peder Lingren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kjell Andersson having to interfere. Peder Lingren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Kjell Andersson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 35 minutes into the game, Arman Ekeberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. After 36 played minutes Djurgården got a freekick which was hit by Kristoffer Rosin. Martin Blomqvist kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. When Peder Lingren fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The audience was convinced that Peder Lingren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kjell Andersson was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Peder Lingren put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Kjell Andersson. The supporters of Djurgården booed when Laxå was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henry Lägdin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Laxå's goalkeeper Kjell Andersson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gösta Fågel made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Arman Ekeberg sent off a good shot on target. Kjell Tidén hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. After having played for 75 minutes, Peder Lingren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Djurgården's supporters crossed their fingers, but Peder Lingren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 76 minutes, Martin Gustafsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Laxå and the Djurgården players grew even worse after the yellow card. Martin Gustafsson kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the match, Laxå's David Knutsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gösta Fågel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Frank Andreasson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kjell Andersson having to interfere. When Peder Lingren came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Djurgården fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peder Lingren couldn't finish the play. Kjell Andersson came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Djurgården's Kennet Lindholm. But to his dismay, Kennet Lindholm quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Laxå's goalkeeper Kjell Andersson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Despite being the better team, Djurgården failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
