Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Adrian Sjödin started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrik Håning in the 8th minute of play forced Värnamo's goalkeeper Börje Åkerman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Värnamo's Börje Åkerman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrik Håning in the 9th minute of play. 11 minutes into the game, Patrik Håning cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Börje Åkerman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 22nd minute, Tom Björnsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Patrik Håning sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Linus Håkansson in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Börje Åkerman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hugo Ambjörnsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Osvald Lindberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Tom Björnsson came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Fristad fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tom Björnsson couldn't finish the play. When Johan Henriksson fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Värnamo's protests and gave Johan Henriksson a yellow card for diving instead. Johan Henriksson kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Börje Åkerman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrik Håning, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. If Patrik Håning had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Fristad were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Patrik Håning struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Börje Åkerman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fristad. 59 minutes into the match, Värnamo's goalkeeper Börje Åkerman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tom Björnsson. When Freddie Österberg fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Värnamo's protests and gave Freddie Österberg a yellow card for diving instead. In the 59th match minute, Värnamo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Freddie Österberg to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Värnamo's Mats Hedman tried to score from far away in the 68th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Börje Åkerman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patrik Håning in the 78th minute of the match. In the 81st minute, Fristad's Patrik Håning ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Börje Åkerman. Börje Åkerman yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. In a very dangerous position, a player in Värnamo fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 84th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Börje Åkerman, was totally fooled by Fristad's Patric Rosendahl, who 86 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Patrik Håning received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Börje Åkerman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fristad's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
