If Leo Lindström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 4 minutes into the match, Mariefred's goal looked a bit too open when Leo Lindström came free, but Verner Åberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 9 minutes into the game, Christopher Ahlbom was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mariefred's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kiruna the free kick. Christopher Ahlbom hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Leo Lindström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leo Lindström blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Verner Åberg having to make a save. Klas Glanselius fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Verner Åberg having to interfere. In the 19th match minute, Kiruna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leo Lindström to maneuver through the defense. Vilgot Frisk kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Tomas Svensson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 32nd minute Tomas Svensson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mikael Ekenberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Klas Glanselius blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Verner Åberg having to make a save. If Leo Lindström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Mariefred's zone, Klas Glanselius stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Verner Åberg came out of the goal and Klas Glanselius tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leo Lindström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Verner Åberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Svensson to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Mariefred booed when Kiruna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ingmar Nord didn't get a good kick on the ball. 52 minutes into the match, Kiruna's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Svensson came free, but Mikael Ekenberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Verner Åberg was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Klas Glanselius. In the 56th match minute, Kiruna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ingmar Nord to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Mariefred booed when Kiruna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jarl Ahlbeck didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leo Lindström blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Verner Åberg having to make a save. Klas Glanselius could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Verner Åberg made a huge save. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kiruna's goalkeeper Mikael Ekenberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The long shot by Vilgot Frisk in the 68th minute really tested Verner Åberg's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 72nd minute, Klas Glanselius got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ingmar Nord fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Verner Åberg having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Leo Lindström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kiruna's supporters rose to their feet, but Leo Lindström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Verner Åberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leo Lindström struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Verner Åberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kiruna. After 81 played minutes Mariefred got a freekick which was hit by Christopher Ahlbom. Leo Lindström was extremely unlucky when he, in the 87th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Fritz Månsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Kiruna's zone, Adrian Palmquist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mikael Ekenberg came out of the goal and Adrian Palmquist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 94 minutes into the match, Kiruna's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Svensson came free, but Mikael Ekenberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kiruna were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
