Ingelstad's Kennet Rosén played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thor Vacker in the 9th minute of play. Tommy Odén received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Jakob Eckegren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ljungby's Jakob Eckegren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nils Mellbad in the 13th minute of play. Thor Vacker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kennet Rosén having to interfere. 20 minutes into the game, Tommy Odén was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ingelstad's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ljungby the free kick. The supporters of Ljungby booed when Ingelstad was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tommy Odén didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ingelstad's zone, Dick Forsberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kennet Rosén came out of the goal and Dick Forsberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Frans Holmbergs short, quick shot in the 25thth minute got Kennet Rosén to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Ragnar Gregersson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Ingelstad getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Henning Högman hit a great ball. Ljungby's Jakob Eckegren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Örjan Ahlerot in the 37th minute of play. 39 minutes into the game, Ingelstad's Tommy Odén nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jakob Eckegren made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Jim Ahlström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kennet Rosén having to interfere. Jakob Eckegren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tommy Odén in the 46th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

After 52 minutes, Frans Holmberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ljungby and the Ingelstad players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 52nd minute, Frans Holmberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 54 minutes into the match, Nils Mellbad dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jakob Eckegren, 0-2. The supporters of Ingelstad booed when Ljungby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Börje Björk didn't get a good kick on the ball. Örjan Ahlerot received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jakob Eckegren came out and tried to block the shot, but Örjan Ahlerot slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 62nd minute. The audience was convinced that Frans Holmberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kennet Rosén was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. Kennet Rosén made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thor Vacker in the 67th minute of play. Jakob Eckegren made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Tommy Odén sent off a good shot on target. After 70 played minutes Ljungby got a freekick which was hit by Jim Ahlström. In the 71st minute, Jörn Bock got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 73rd minute of the match, Tommy Odén got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jakob Eckegren was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Ingelstad's Kennet Rosén played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frans Holmberg in the 86th minute of play. Ljungby's Thor Vacker got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Ingelstad's zone, Frans Holmberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kennet Rosén came out of the goal and Frans Holmberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thor Vacker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. In the 96th minute, Frans Holmberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ljungby fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Ljungby lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
