In the 23rd match minute, Yxlan FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andréas Willig to maneuver through the defense. 24 minutes in the game Göran Ljungberg after having made a beautiful turn got a great opportunity to score and fired away a shot that went just to the left past a relieved Jens-Erik Eriksson. A very good opportunity. Tomas Nordström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Jonatan Vennerlund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Övre Soppero FF's zone, Michael Fanström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonatan Vennerlund came out of the goal and Michael Fanström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonatan Vennerlund didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sören Blom went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. If Michael Fanström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 41 minutes into the game, Krister Hellgren was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Övre Soppero FF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Yxlan FK the free kick. The supporters of Yxlan FK booed when Övre Soppero FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Krister Hellgren didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Nordström didn't quite understand what happened when in the 43 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Sören Blom struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Jonatan Vennerlund didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Yxlan FK.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Karl-Magnus Bock made a kick off. Övre Soppero FF were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after Yxlan FK's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Arman Lindgren took the corner. The corner led Övre Soppero FF's Arman Lindgren to fire away a dangerous shot which Jens-Erik Eriksson despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Wiktor Rosendal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Bernt Bergström fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Övre Soppero FF's protests and gave Bernt Bergström a yellow card for diving instead. 61 minutes into the game, one of Övre Soppero FF:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Yxlan FK a penalty, 63 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Per-Erik Söder, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Övre Soppero FF's Jonatan Vennerlund. 1-3. In the 65th match minute, Yxlan FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Nordström to maneuver through the defense. Michael Fanström's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonatan Vennerlund read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. When Övre Soppero FF's Karl-Magnus Bock in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Ulf Källberg kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. Yxlan FK's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
