A collision led to Askersund getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Niclas Löfdahl hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dick Lagerberg during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dick Lagerberg hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Askersund's Adrian Biörling got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Helge Brandin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jimmy Olofsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dick Lagerberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kasper Brolin having to interfere. Daniel Söderqvist's late challenge caught a Aros Vättar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Daniel Söderqvist helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Aros Vättar booed when Askersund was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Söderqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Askersund's zone, Dick Lagerberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kasper Brolin came out of the goal and Dick Lagerberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kasper Brolin was out of position in the 22 minute of play, and Dick Lagerberg capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dick Lagerberg really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. After having played for 28 minutes, Dick Lagerberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aros Vättar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dick Lagerberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Dick Lagerberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute, Niclas Löfdahl got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kasper Brolin was a little too slow when Dick Lagerberg got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 36th minute. The score was now 2-0. Dick Lagerberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kasper Brolin having to interfere. If Frans Björkman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dick Lagerberg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Dick Lagerberg came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Aros Vättar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dick Lagerberg couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dick Lagerberg in the 64th minute of play forced Askersund's goalkeeper Kasper Brolin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 67 minutes, Dick Lagerberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aros Vättar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dick Lagerberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gottfrid Kjellberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kasper Brolin having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Aros Vättar had played much better football throughout.
