After 5 minutes, Kent Dahlberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kosta and the Örebro SK players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Örebro SK booed when Kosta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kent Dahlberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 6th minute, Christian Widberg fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 8 minutes in the game, Tomasz Wojtyna fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Uno Alströmmer having to interfere. Christian Widberg struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Uno Alströmmer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Örebro SK. Christian Widberg did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Uno Alströmmer 17 minutes into the match. Uno Alströmmer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Christian Widberg in the 20th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kent Dahlberg in the 21st minute of play forced Örebro SK's goalkeeper Georg Bock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kosta's Uno Alströmmer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Kosta from getting a goal against them. 25 minutes into the match, Kosta's goal looked a bit too open when Juan Carlos Terroba came free, but Uno Alströmmer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 39th minute, Eddie Rosén hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 40 minutes into the match, Örebro SK's goal looked a bit too open when Ingvar Lindgren came free, but Georg Bock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Christian Widberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Christian Widberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Uno Alströmmer having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Egon Gernberg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Uno Alströmmer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christian Widberg in the 98th minute of play. 98 minutes into the match, Christian Widberg notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Kosta's Uno Alströmmer. Uno Alströmmer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Örebro SK had played much better football throughout.
