The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Hans Johnsson came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Rönnäng BF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hans Johnsson couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Sandared IK's Emanuel Eriksson got a free kick in the 12th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Rönnäng BF's goal looked a bit too open when Joar Alebäck came free, but Sverker Göransson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 20 minutes had been played when some careless play by Rönnäng BF's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Kenneth Josefsson was slow to take the kick. During this time Sandared IK's players had a chance to rest. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joar Alebäck in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sverker Göransson saved Rönnäng BF from getting behind. In the 23rd minute, Sixten Lundberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With 30 minutes on the clock, Sven Dahlberg commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 30 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Rönnäng BF! In the 33rd minute there was a penalty for Sandared IK. Kenneth Josefsson stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Sverker Göransson. 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adrian Boström in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sverker Göransson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 42nd minute, Örjan Willig got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sixten Lundberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Mårten Westerstrand tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Rönnäng BF's Gunnar Kielstedt got a free kick in the 49th minute. Kenneth Josefsson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 50th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sverker Göransson. Rönnäng BF's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Mårten Westerstrand showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sixten Lundberg in the 54th minute of the match. Joar Alebäck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Sverker Göransson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joar Alebäck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sverker Göransson having to interfere. Örjan Willigs short, quick shot in the 67thth minute got Sverker Göransson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Sandared IK's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Kenneth Josefsson in the 75th minute. Kenneth Josefsson made a great header on Sandared IK's corner, it was just that Rönnäng BF's Sverker Göransson managed to reach the ball for a save. Örjan Willig might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sverker Göransson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Örjan Willig ran back to his position shaking his head. When Joar Alebäck came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Sandared IK fans jumped to their feet. The referee ignored Rönnäng BF's protests and gave Gunnar Kielstedt a yellow card for diving instead. Joar Alebäck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sverker Göransson having to interfere. Sandared IK's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
