The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute Michael Klintæus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bengt-Rune Holmgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 3 minutes into the match, Sunhultsbrunn BF's goal looked a bit too open when Michael Klintæus came free, but Bengt-Rune Holmgren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bengt-Rune Holmgren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michael Klintæus in the 7th minute of play. Jan-Olof Wikander kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Patric Backlund got free with Per-Arne Andreasson in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Michael Klintæus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Bengt-Rune Holmgren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Michael Klintæus came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Tenhult fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Michael Klintæus couldn't finish the play. Tenhult's attentive Jan-Olof Wikander managed to snatch the ball when Arne Arenstedt made a throw-in in the 26th minute of the game. The supporters of Sunhultsbrunn BF booed when Tenhult was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jarl Abrahamsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. 41 minutes into the game, Ingmar Ivarsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sunhultsbrunn BF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tenhult the free kick. Bengt-Rune Holmgren stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Michael Klintæus's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute.

Jan-Olof Wikander charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jan-Olof Wikander the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 52nd minute, Jan-Olof Wikander hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Tenhult defense, Arvid Snäll kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Per-Arne Andreasson. The Tenhult fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Per-Arne Andreasson should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Tenhult's Börje Målare got a free kick in the 72nd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Tenhult's Michael Klintæus slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bengt-Rune Holmgren. That made the score 1-3 after 90 minutes of play. In the 95th minute, Ingmar Ivarsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Börje Målare hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. The Tenhult supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Tenhult would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
