The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Tjörnarp's Mikael Stigsson got control of the ball when Michael Klintæus tried to sneak it across the goal line. Olof Ivarsson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Per-Arne Andreasson having to make a save. 27 minutes into the match, Tenhult's Michael Klintæus sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mikael Stigsson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Tenhult booed when Tjörnarp was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martin Johnsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mikael Stigsson was out of position in the 31 minute of play, and Michael Klintæus capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Michael Klintæus really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. 36 minutes into the match, Michael Klintæus dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Mikael Stigsson, 2-0. Mikael Stigsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michael Klintæus in the 44th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Olof Ivarsson made a kick off. Michael Klintæus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Tjörnarp booed when Tenhult was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Börje Målare didn't get a good kick on the ball. Per-Arne Andreasson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Olof Ivarsson in the 55th minute of the match. Mikael Stigsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan-Olof Wikander in the 58th minute of the match. After having played for 60 minutes, Michael Klintæus managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tenhult's supporters crossed their fingers, but Michael Klintæus was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sven Kilström got free with Per-Arne Andreasson in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Per-Arne Andreasson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olof Ivarsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Tenhult were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Tjörnarp for a fine match.
