Abbekås RK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hovås IK the free kick. After a defensive mix-up in Abbekås RK's zone, Frank Jönsätt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. George Lindqvist came out of the goal and Frank Jönsätt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. George Lindqvist came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Hovås IK's Börge Kinell. But to his dismay, Börge Kinell quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. When Björn Bergren fell near the penalty area in the 50th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Abbekås RK's protests and gave Björn Bergren a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Abbekås RK's Björn Bergren got a free kick in the 50th minute. Jens-Åke Hjortsberg took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 52nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for George Lindqvist. Abbekås RK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The Abbekås RK players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Hovås IK were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Frank Jönsätt to make the kick off. Jens-Åke Hjortsberg charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jens-Åke Hjortsberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 56th minute, one of Hovås IK:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Hovås IK. In the 73rd minute, Gert Asplund got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Gert Asplund came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Abbekås RK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gert Asplund couldn't finish the play. Henning Stålberg charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
