Corrado Piermattei who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 4thth minute tested the skills of Darian Claringbold when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 6th minute, Edvard Bergman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bernt Tinglöf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven Bäck in the 10th minute of play. Corrado Piermattei's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 11thth minute, Darian Claringbold skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Bernt Tinglöf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Collin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. IFK Göteborg's Bernt Tinglöf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alejo Marino in the 16th minute of play. Bernt Tinglöf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Collin in the 18th minute of play. Bernt Tinglöf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Collin, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, Gunnar Backlund put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Bernt Tinglöf. When André Collin came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Patani FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Collin couldn't finish the play. Bernt Tinglöf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven Bäck in the 40th minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Patani FC's Kahraman Vefa seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Kahraman Vefa the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Patani FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Kahraman Vefa had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The supporters of IFK Göteborg booed when Patani FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kahraman Vefa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 45 minutes into the match, Patani FC's goalkeeper Darian Claringbold had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Corrado Piermattei. Sven Bäck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernt Tinglöf having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alejo Marino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bernt Tinglöf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Collin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 54th minute Sven Bäck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernt Tinglöf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Per-Oskar Haeger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Bernt Tinglöf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 58 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Patani FC's Sven Bäck fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. A collision led to IFK Göteborg getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Evert Klementsson hit a great ball. Sven Bäck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Bernt Tinglöf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 69 minutes into the match, Patani FC's goal looked a bit too open when Corrado Piermattei came free, but Darian Claringbold reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bernt Tinglöf stood somewhat misplaced when Osvald Gunnarsson came free in front of goal and shot 0-5 to the left of him in the 71 minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven Bäck in the 74th minute of play forced IFK Göteborg's goalkeeper Bernt Tinglöf to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alejo Marino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bernt Tinglöf showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven Bäck in the 82nd minute of the match. Timmy Sellberg hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Ryszard Piesciuk managed to get in a good position for a shot. Patani FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ryszard Piesciuk was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernt Tinglöf breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bernt Tinglöf made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Alejo Marino sent off a good shot on target. Alejo Marino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernt Tinglöf having to interfere. Bernt Tinglöf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven Bäck, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. With his leg Bernt Tinglöf managed to avoid a goal in the 95thth minute, when Patani FC's Alejo Marino fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Patani FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
