After a defensive mix-up in Sandhem's zone, Johan Andersson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Harald Holmberg came out of the goal and Johan Andersson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 18 minutes of play, Sandhem's Leif Mager made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Olov Arvidsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Frank Hedlund during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Lundström made a kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Sandhem's Karl-Michael Forsberg slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Olov Arvidsson. That made the score 0-3 after 51 minutes of play. The audience was convinced that Leif Mager's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Olov Arvidsson was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alf Larsfält got free with Olov Arvidsson in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
