Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Viktor Granberg to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in The Rats's zone, Ture Wiklund stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tord Samuelsson came out of the goal and Ture Wiklund tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Rats's Tord Samuelsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ture Wiklund in the 91st minute of play. 94 minutes into the game, Nils-Åke Hamberg lined in a short shot 1-2 behind a frustrated Sven-Arne Gustavsson. If Ture Wiklund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 100th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched The Rats eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
