Ali Kurd scored 1-0 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bo-Erik Boklund, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Festis BK booed when Nils Liedholm IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Östen Olsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alexander Hultstrand in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bo-Erik Boklund saved Nils Liedholm IF from getting behind. After some careless play in the Nils Liedholm IF defense, Alexander Hultstrand kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bo-Erik Boklund. The Nils Liedholm IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bo-Erik Boklund should have stopped the shot. Rune Nilsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Martin Forss tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 35thth minute of the game Rune Nilsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Festis BK's Martin Forss was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ali Kurd could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Bo-Erik Boklund made a huge save. Sture Dahlberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bo-Erik Boklund read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. A hard shot 46 in the game by Ali Kurd from a close distance when the talented Bo-Erik Boklund managed to make a qualified save. Nils Liedholm IF's players were relieved.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ove Hake to make the kick off. Vilhelm Granberg struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Bo-Erik Boklund didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. Kalle Norström made in the 67th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Festis BK's Vilhelm Granberg. Jimmie Fogel's late challenge caught a Festis BK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jimmie Fogel helped the player get up and apologised. Jimmie Fogel hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. After having played for 73 minutes, Alexander Hultstrand managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Festis BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexander Hultstrand was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rune Nilsson hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. In the 80th minute, Manfred Gudmundsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexander Hultstrand in the 85th minute of play forced Nils Liedholm IF's goalkeeper Bo-Erik Boklund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Nils Liedholm IF's Martin Söderkvist got a free kick in the 86th minute. Sture Dahlberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 92nd minute, Alexander Hultstrand hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
