After 9 minutes, Adolfo Vogel made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Royal Excel Mouscron's Edgar Poe tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Royal Excel Mouscron defense, Adolfo Vogel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edgar Poe. The Royal Excel Mouscron fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edgar Poe should have stopped the shot. Kasper Krankl hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Fred Isaksson took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edgar Poe. Edgar Poe dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Kasper Krankl succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-3 in the 23rd playminute. 32 minutes into the match, Adolfo Vogel notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Royal Excel Mouscron's Edgar Poe. Edgar Poe was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 36thth minute of the game Adolfo Vogel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Royal Excel Mouscron's Edgar Poe was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Edgar Poe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fred Isaksson in the 41st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Royal Excel Mouscron's Leo Granström got a free kick in the 47th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frank Kunze was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fred Isaksson in the 55th minute of play forced Royal Excel Mouscron's goalkeeper Edgar Poe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Reds were awarded a corner in the 57th minute after Royal Excel Mouscron's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Benny Kvick took the corner. Benny Kvick made a great header on The Reds's corner, it was just that Royal Excel Mouscron's Edgar Poe managed to reach the ball for a save. Fred Isaksson's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Edgar Poe firmly grabbed it by the left post. Edgar Poe stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adolfo Vogel's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. Edgar Poe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fred Isaksson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 77 minutes into the match, Royal Excel Mouscron's goalkeeper Edgar Poe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Johnny Lange. Edgar Poe stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adolfo Vogel's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. In the 80th minute of the match The Reds got a corner. Royal Excel Mouscron's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Benny Kvick ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on The Reds's corner Benny Kvick fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Edgar Poe quite easily take care of the ball. The audience was convinced that Gaudencio Quinto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edgar Poe was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Frank Kunze fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sten Andreasson having to interfere. In the 84th minute, Adolfo Vogel reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Edgar Poe. The goal made the score 2-7. In the 87th minute Adolfo Vogel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Poe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sten Andreasson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Kunze in the 89th minute of the match. Sten Andreasson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leo Granström, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Frank Kunze fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sten Andreasson having to interfere. The Royal Excel Mouscron fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. The Reds were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
