Gustaw Terasek might have been able to make a better finish in the 2nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marek Mentis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gustaw Terasek ran back to his position shaking his head. 5 minutes into the match, Atletico's goal looked a bit too open when Gustaw Terasek came free, but Marek Mentis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When GKS 1962 Jastrzębie's Gustaw Terasek in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Atletico's goalie prevented a goal. After 7 played minutes GKS 1962 Jastrzębie got a freekick which was hit by Karl Bauten. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gustaw Terasek in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marek Mentis saved Atletico from getting behind. Marek Mentis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gustaw Terasek's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. If Karl Bauten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Karl Bauten struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Marek Mentis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GKS 1962 Jastrzębie. If Gustaw Terasek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. GKS 1962 Jastrzębie's Waldir Gomes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save GKS 1962 Jastrzębie from getting a goal against them. 29 minutes into the game, Leon Wojtyna recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Waldir Gomes. Leon Wojtyna showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. 39 minutes into the game, Atletico's Wiktor Munko nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Waldir Gomes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Leon Wojtyna kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Waldir Gomes. That made the score 3-1 in the 44 minute of play. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind GKS 1962 Jastrzębie's goalkeeper Waldir Gomes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

A collision led to GKS 1962 Jastrzębie getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Lukasz Tarasek hit a great ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 56 minutes into the game, when Radowit Gieraltowski put in a rough tackle. The referee gave Atletico a penalty, 58 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Stanislaw Bartochowski, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of GKS 1962 Jastrzębie's Waldir Gomes. 4-1. Lukasz Tarasek hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Waldir Gomes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leon Wojtyna in the 66th minute of play. After 71 minutes, Bogumil Fabiszak mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atletico and the GKS 1962 Jastrzębie players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Karl Bauten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Waldir Gomes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leon Wojtyna in the 77th minute of play. Karl Bauten received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Marek Mentis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Atletico's Marek Mentis got control of the ball when Karl Bauten tried to sneak it across the goal line. Waldir Gomes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafal Anszczak in the 98th minute of the match. GKS 1962 Jastrzębie's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Atletico had won, even though GKS 1962 Jastrzębie had held more of the ball.
