Olaf Wojton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Radomil Wykowski in the 18th minute of play. Dominik Dembowski hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. After having played for 24 minutes, Radomil Wykowski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Buchwalde SSA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Radomil Wykowski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dominik Wallach got free with Olaf Wojton in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Bayer 04 Leverkusen's zone, Dominik Wallach stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olaf Wojton came out of the goal and Dominik Wallach tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Radomil Wykowski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 35th minute Radomil Wykowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olaf Wojton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Bayer 04 Leverkusen's Tymoteusz Barniszke got a free kick in the 38th minute. Radomil Wykowski struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Olaf Wojton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Buchwalde SSA. 44 minutes into the match, Bayer 04 Leverkusen's goal looked a bit too open when Radomil Wykowski came free, but Olaf Wojton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Olaf Wojton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Radomil Wykowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

In the 54th minute Radomil Wykowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olaf Wojton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dominik Wallach sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tytus Domin shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. In the 72nd minute Dominik Wallach shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olaf Wojton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Radomil Wykowski might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Olaf Wojton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Radomil Wykowski ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fryderyk Maziarski in the 79th minute of play forced Buchwalde SSA's goalkeeper Teobald Waldoch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fryderyk Maziarski received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Teobald Waldoch came out and tried to block the shot, but Fryderyk Maziarski slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 86th minute. Olaf Wojton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Radomil Wykowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. If Zbyszko Debkowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Chants of Bayer 04 Leverkusen echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Buchwalde SSA had held the ball for most of the match.
