Herbert Dunajski stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zenon Latocha's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. Herbert Dunajski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miroslaw Oleszak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Herbert Dunajski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miroslaw Oleszak, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Adam Tomaka's late challenge caught a FC Gdańsk's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adam Tomaka helped the player get up and apologised. After 19 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Tiger Team! The referee gave FC Gdańsk a penalty, 21 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Mieszko Moizuk, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Tiger Team's Herbert Dunajski. 0-1. Ryszard Zurawski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arkadiusz Skrzypek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ryszard Zurawski made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Patryk Lenertej sent off a good shot on target. After 35 played minutes Tiger Team got a freekick which was hit by Teobald Kondysar. Zenon Latocha struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Herbert Dunajski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Gdańsk. Miroslaw Oleszak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Miroslaw Oleszak came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the FC Gdańsk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Miroslaw Oleszak couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zenon Latocha to make the kick off. If Arkadiusz Skrzypek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th minute Arkadiusz Skrzypek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ryszard Zurawski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tiger Team's goalkeeper Herbert Dunajski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Miroslaw Oleszak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herbert Dunajski having to interfere. When Lucjan Winnicki came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the FC Gdańsk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucjan Winnicki couldn't finish the play. Miroslaw Oleszak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Herbert Dunajski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 81 minutes into the match, Tiger Team's goalkeeper Herbert Dunajski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Miroslaw Oleszak. Miroslaw Oleszak recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
