The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juliusz Wos in the 3rd minute of play forced Zaporze's goalkeeper Witalis Piechocki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lukasz Paprotny received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Przemyslaw Wykowski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Przemyslaw Wykowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jurand Zgonina in the 8th minute of the match. Lukasz Paprotny fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Przemyslaw Wykowski having to interfere. Lukasz Paprotny received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. In the 30th match minute, Zaporze was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jurand Zgonina to maneuver through the defense. When Jurand Zgonina came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Zaporze fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jurand Zgonina couldn't finish the play. Przemyslaw Wykowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lukasz Paprotny in the 38th minute of the match. After having played for 39 minutes, Lukasz Paprotny managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zaporze's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lukasz Paprotny was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The West Thorn players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Zaporze were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leonard Wnukowski was the one to do the kick off. After 54 minutes of play, Zaporze's Lukasz Paprotny made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Przemyslaw Wykowski was left in no man's land by his defense there! Stasio Bochinski kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. 61 minutes into the match, West Thorn's goal looked a bit too open when Jurand Zgonina came free, but Przemyslaw Wykowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Zaporze booed when West Thorn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karol Blochowiak didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jurand Zgonina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 66 minutes, Leonard Wnukowski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The supporters of West Thorn booed when Zaporze was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antoni Gibowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 72nd minute, Jurand Zgonina fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Przemyslaw Wykowski, passed just outside the right post. Lukasz Paprotny blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Przemyslaw Wykowski having to make a save. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, Lukasz Paprotny put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Przemyslaw Wykowski. Przemyslaw Wykowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jurand Zgonina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lukasz Paprotny received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute.
