Daniel Hidle stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marius Granly's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. Alfred Carlsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Daniel Hidle made a huge save. In the 19th match minute, Rosenborg United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carl-Rune Kjeldsen to maneuver through the defense. Rosenborg United's Theodor Hjelmeland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johannes Øvstebø in the 23rd minute of play. Petter Helgeland's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Theodor Hjelmeland read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Johannes Øvstebø to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Magnus Nysveen during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee ignored Rosenborg United's protests and gave Carl-Rune Kjeldsen a yellow card for diving instead. Rosenborg United's defense didn't have a chance, in the 67th minute, when Johannes Øvstebø scored to the left of an out of position Theodor Hjelmeland, making the score, 1-2. If Petter Helgeland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
