Lars-Olav Berdal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trond Havik in the 4th minute of the match. Espen Bjørge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aslak Forbord having to interfere. Aslak Forbord made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Espen Bjørge in the 11th minute of play. Idar Leirvåg charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Idar Leirvåg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 13 played minutes, Rjukan IL's Jarl Kristiansen shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Aslak Forbord came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Rjukan IL reached it. 14 minutes into the match, Sagfjord IL's goalkeeper Aslak Forbord had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cai Krogstad. After 16 played minutes, Rjukan IL's Martin Storeide shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Aslak Forbord came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Rjukan IL reached it. Rjukan IL's Jarl Kristiansen couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 25th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Sagfjord IL. In the 33rd match minute, Rjukan IL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martin Storeide to maneuver through the defense. Lars-Olav Berdal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peter Neverdal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rjukan IL's Lars-Olav Berdal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trond Havik in the 37th minute of play. A collision led to Rjukan IL getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Hans Bjørnsen hit a great ball. After 42 played minutes Rjukan IL got a freekick which was hit by Espen Bjørge. Peter Neverdal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lars-Olav Berdal having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Hans Bjørnsen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 46 minutes into the match, Sagfjord IL's Trond Havik sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lars-Olav Berdal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Trond Havik made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cai Krogstad in the 53rd minute of play forced Sagfjord IL's goalkeeper Aslak Forbord to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cai Krogstad received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Aslak Forbord tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 58 minutes of play Sagfjord IL's Idar Leirvåg was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 59th minute, Idar Leirvåg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rjukan IL's Jarl Kristiansen couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 60th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Sagfjord IL. After 63 minutes, Hans Bjørnsen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rjukan IL and the Sagfjord IL players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hans Bjørnsen hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. A collision led to Sagfjord IL getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Trond Havik hit a great ball. 75 minutes into the match, Sagfjord IL's goal looked a bit too open when Espen Bjørge came free, but Aslak Forbord reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Rjukan IL's Lars-Olav Berdal got control of the ball when Peter Neverdal tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Cai Krogstad's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aslak Forbord was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. If Espen Bjørge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 90 minutes into the match, Sagfjord IL's goal looked a bit too open when Cai Krogstad came free, but Aslak Forbord reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 92 minutes into the match, Sagfjord IL's goal looked a bit too open when Espen Bjørge came free, but Aslak Forbord reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 94th minute, Espen Bjørge got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aslak Forbord made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cai Krogstad in the 97th minute of play. Although Rjukan IL had been in control for most of the match, Sagfjord IL still came away with the win.
