In the 5th minute David Ek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frode Sinnes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vestbøstad BF's John-Edvin Nydal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Vestbøstad BF from getting a goal against them. After 12 played minutes Grødal got a freekick which was hit by Bendik Fagerheim. After 14 played minutes Grødal got a freekick which was hit by Tore Strandheim. 21 minutes into the game, Grødal's Søren Ribe nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. John-Edvin Nydal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After a rather tough play, Vestbøstad BF's Jim Sørbø got a free kick in the 25th minute. After 27 played minutes Vestbøstad BF got a freekick which was hit by Fredrik Anderssen. John-Edvin Nydal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bendik Fagerheim in the 28th minute of play. John-Edvin Nydal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bendik Fagerheim, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. 33 minutes into the game, Vestbøstad BF's David Ek nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Frode Sinnes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. After a defensive mix-up in Vestbøstad BF's zone, Søren Ribe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. John-Edvin Nydal came out of the goal and Søren Ribe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 44th minute, Ole-Einar Gramstad left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Grødal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bendik Fagerheim to make the kick off. In the 54th minute, Bendik Fagerheim left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Grødal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. Bendik Fagerheim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 67 minutes into the match, Grødal's Bendik Fagerheim sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that John-Edvin Nydal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bendik Fagerheim in the 69th minute of play forced Vestbøstad BF's goalkeeper John-Edvin Nydal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bendik Fagerheim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If David Ek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Vestbøstad BF booed when Grødal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bendik Fagerheim didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Søren Ribe's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but John-Edvin Nydal was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. 95 minutes into the match, Vestbøstad BF's goal looked a bit too open when Bendik Fagerheim came free, but John-Edvin Nydal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
