The Svartskaret fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Olav Lerøy should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Per-Kristian Høyland's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Olav Lerøy was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Børge Skar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olav Lerøy having to interfere. A collision led to Svartskaret getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Kristen Lindland hit a great ball. Olav Lerøy was left in no man's land by his defense there! Per-Kristian Høyland might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Olav Lerøy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Per-Kristian Høyland ran back to his position shaking his head. Børge Skar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Olav Lerøy having to make a save. In the 42nd minute, Kim Slettebø hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 45 minutes had been played when some careless play by Svartskaret's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Torgeir Kvernberg was slow to take the kick. During this time Sundheim BK's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Frode Corneliussen almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Svartskaret's Olav Lerøy did a great save. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Børge Skar to make the kick off. Kristen Lindland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Børge Skar came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Sundheim BK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Børge Skar couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Børge Skar in the 62nd minute of play forced Svartskaret's goalkeeper Olav Lerøy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Per-Kristian Høyland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 68thth minute of the game Børge Skar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Svartskaret's Olav Lerøy was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 78 minutes, Runar Ferkingstad mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sundheim BK and the Svartskaret players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Svartskaret booed when Sundheim BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Runar Ferkingstad didn't get a good kick on the ball. Runar Ferkingstad kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Olav Lerøy didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 83rd minute, which inside left pole to 1-4. Olav Lerøy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Børge Skar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 97th minute the ball was on its way in behind Svartskaret's goalkeeper Olav Lerøy, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sundheim BK's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
